Network Solution for Wills Memorial Building

When one of the countries most important gothic buildings required an improved AV solution, Sounds Commercial were delighted to be given the opportunity to be the main audio visual supplier. The project was to supply an updated multimedia infrastructure that will extend the functionality of a building that is not only a major landmark of the Bristol skyline but also a working University building, home to lectures, seminars and graduation ceremonies a like.

The speaker system installed is the Omniline system from Martin Audio. The system utilises a mini line array design which allows for highly directed acoustics, an essential requirement in a room with a 30m vaulted ceiling. Architectural lighting was used throughout the Great Hall to help accentuate the spaces vaults and curves. The DMX controlled system also allows the user to completely customise the space, using colour to turn the building into a corporate sponsor or a bearer of a schools colours.

Sounds Commercial completed the project in January 2009 leaving the University of Bristol with an advanced, fully integrated and easy to use AV system housed in one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. This project has received great accolade by featuring as the main article in February 2009’s edition of, Lighting and Sound International magazine.
