Hill McGlynn, a leading specialist recruitment agency, chose the stunning Intercontinental Hotel, Budapest as the venue for their Annual Conference 2008.
As news of a recession and ‘credit crunch’ hit the headlines, the Hill McGlynn Exec’s were keen to set minds at rest and to deliver a strong, clear message of Company uniformity, despite what may be troubled times ahead. The task to develop a theme for the event was met by the Sounds Commercial Production team and the strap line ‘Strength Through Adversity’ was born, a comforting and positive message to the 300 delegates attending the event.
Our in-house studio’s approach to graphics in the extensive pre-event production process was a sensitive yet dynamic one. The opening VT showcased Hill McGlynn’s history, linked with events across the globe during the past 30 years when the company have grown, excelled and survived previous economic downturns – a motivational and positive response to the concerns of the current economic climate. The stage set design was masculine and discerningly incorporated the Company’s logo. The use of acrylic was paramount to enable colour changing abilities using the latest lighting effects, which also included a laser show.
Following the success of the morning conference, the room was transformed to fit the theme of ‘musical icons’. 4 large projection screens displayed fashion, music and news from the eras beginning in 1956, during the Hungarian Revolution up to the current year. All 300 delegates donned fancy dress to celebrate the company’s strong position, enjoy dinner and celebrate the achievements of their colleagues in a much coveted Awards Presentation.
The music and dancing (and the loss of a few fancy dress costumes!) went on into the early hours before Sounds Commercial de-rigged the room and headed home for the UK!
