COTY Beauty 2011

With 200 delegates and presenters to be flown in from around the globe for a 5 day international marketing conference for the prestigious cosmetics company COTY Beauty, the choice of location was absolutely key. The Puente Romano resort in Marbella fitted the bill, allowing flexible flight times and transfers to the destination airport in a beautiful 5 star glamorous setting. Sounds Commercial managed all transfers and booking arrangements ensuring a seamless experience from departure to arrival.

Integral to the bespoke dual screen set and catwalk for the conference was the showcasing of 30 new and existing products, each requiring a bespoke exhibition cabinet construction and lighting to the finish expected from such a leading brand. With all the in-house designed prefabricated specialist equipment arriving from the UK, the timing and logistics had to be exact to coincide with the arrival of the production crew. Following this flawless rig was a 2 day rehearsal schedule incorporating over 50 videos in all global formats. Ensuring the presenters were confident and comfortable with the delivery was paramount and the in-depth 1-2-1 production management on-site more than achieved this.

As well as planning and executing the conference and exhibition with the launch of high profile celebrity fragrances and brands, we also looked after both the guests hospitality and group activity requirements. Al fresco cocktail receptions, beach BBQ’s and a fantastic meal at the award winning La Cabane restaurant in idyllic settings ensured delegates were receptive to both the content and event experience.

The group activity COTY Beauty “On Location” enabled not only delegates to work together for the first time but also test their product knowledge and creative film making skills! Broken into 10 groups, each became a specialist film unit and following a technical briefing, were assigned a product and the task of filming a bespoke commercial for that product accordingly. Using HD cameras, boom microphone kits and the all important clapper boards, each crew utilised the glamorous locations to create a wealth of footage. Sounds Commercial’s film editors were on hand to ensure each crews vision was captured in their final edits, working through the night to add full motion graphics and sound. The COTY Beauty Film Premieres were attended by all and went down a storm! Everyone voted for their favourite commercial and this, alongside honorary Oscars were awarded at the Oscar Awards and Post Premier Party. With a successful event in a glamorous location for a glamorous brand, all delegates left enthused and invigorated ready for the year ahead and with a highlights VT of their entire time here a perfect reminder of their time in Marbella!
