The 2012 Peak District & Derbyshire Tourism Conference took place yesterday at the award winning Pavilion Gardens, Buxton. This year’s theme, Inspired by You, aims to highlight everyone and everything (including food and drink) that makes the Peak District such a great and unique place to visit.

Speaking at the Conference was His Grace the Duke of Devonshire, Tideswell Village Champion Tim Nicholls and celebrity chef Simon Rimmer.  Simon, the presenter and resident chef on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch programme, challenged two local chefs to produce a two-course meal in thirty minutes using seasonal, local produce.

The event also included an exhibition with around 60 stalls showcasing the best local providers and producers have to offer to both the conference delegates and the general public.
